Templar Illustration Prize 2019

I am very delighted and over the moon to announce that I was awarded the 2019 Templar
Illustration Prize for my Bread, Buns and Biscuit story, at an event hosted by Nomad Books
in Fulham, London on September the 18th . The story is a non-fiction picture book, inspired
by my grandfather Percy who decided to become a baker in a world built around the fishing
trade. The competition was judged by Templar Authors and illustrators Jonny Duddle,
Lara Hawthorne, Lucia Gaggiotti and Fran-Preston Gannon.

You can read all about it here on Bonnier Books UK website: illustration-prize/

Snape Maltings Gallery Winter Exhibition

I’ve been invited to be part of this year’s winter exhibition at the wonderful Snape Maltings Gallery in Snape, Suffolk. Illustrations from ‘Bread, Buns and Biscuits’ were spotted online and the gallery manager contacted me for a meeting. Limited edition giclee prints from ‘Bread, Buns and Biscuits’ will be available at the gallery this winter as will my original linocut prints.

Templar Illustration Prize 2019

‘Bread, Buns, Biscuits’ and I are shocked and delighted to have made the shortlist for the annual ‘Templar Illustration Prize’ 2019! I can’t quite believe it!! I’m one of nine talented illustrators who have made that list. I am in over the moon!! (Not Herring Moon btw) Wish us luck!!! Winners announced in September, it’s going to be a long wait.

Earlier in the year, I applied to be part of this year’s Norwich Print Fair. I’m pleased to say that I’ve been selected! I have tried a few times before over the years and it’s really hard to get in, so I am extra happy! Now for a summer of printmaking! You can check out their website if you want to see some of the best printmakers East Anglia has to offer.

Bologna Children's Book Fair 2018: March 23rd - 29th

Once again, ‘Herring Moon’ is off to the Bologna book fair. It’s taking ‘Bread, Buns and Biscuit’ and my portfolio with it for company this year. Good luck to all of my class mates on the Cambridge School of Art Stand!
The Book fair is one of the biggest events in the children’s book publishing world. It’s the place to be for publishers, illustrators and agents and all the professions involved in content for children.

Exciting News!

I’ve been asked to produce the illustrations and cover for a book on a subject very close to my heart.
My ‘Herring Moon’ drawings were spotted and I was asked to meet with two lovely people about being involved in the revised edition of a non-fiction book about my home town and our historic Beach Village – a subject I have been interested in before ‘Herring Moon’ was even a twinkle in my eye. I’m honoured and excited about being involved with this amazing book!
